Advice about a career in accounting |
Dear Ms. Lockwood:
I am a fourth-year student at Hualien University. After graduating from school, I intend to study in Accounting at another university as I am interested in a career in accounting. However, I am not sure if I am the kind of person who would be good at this. Since you are a well-known accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the most successful accounting companies in London, I would like to ask you for some advice. If you have the time, I would greatly appreciate your help.
I feel like having a fixed schedule. I think I am better at working on my own; moreover I am not a social person. I like working indoors; I, however, don’t like sitting at a computer all day because sometimes I want to be outside. I’d say I am a hard-working person. I always try to get my job done on time. Nevertheless, I am poor at working under pressure; I often give up easily. To solve the problem, I try to stick to deadlines at the moment. I am cautious and thus I do everything carefully; nonetheless I find that I am distracted too easily sometimes. I am creative and imaginative and I don’t like following rules other people established. Do you think a career in accounting would suit me? What kind of people do well in accounting?
I realize you are probably quite busy, but if you could find the time to answer, I would be very grateful.
Sincerely,
Peihsuan Kao Cell: 0000-000-000 E-mail: Peihsuank@gmail.com
