Q&A about Working Holiday in Australia

Did you go alone or go with your partners to Australia?

I went alone because I wanted to make me more independent.

Why did you choose Australia as a country for working holiday?

At that time, I didn’t have enough money to buy a one-way ticket to the USA, Canada, the UK, etc. Also, I wanted to improve my English ability. Therefore, finally I chose to work holiday in Australia.

What was your motivation for working holiday in Australia?

I wanted to give myself the challenges of courage and independence. In fact, there were many various reasons. At the age of 15, I had a dream of doing working holiday in another country because I read a lot of books which were written by people who had experience of working holiday. They both showed interesting photos of what they did and shared a load of experience they had and information about that country in books. It attracted me to working holiday a lot!

I am a student of department of Applied Foreign Languages in college, but I had no interest in English in the slightest. Even I hated studying English and I didn’t want to go to school at all. Once I graduate from school, I don’t know what I can do, I thought at that time. Thus, at the age of 19, I dropped out of school the last year before I graduate. By working holiday for one year in Australia, I wanted to find out what else I can do or what else I am interested in. I hoped I could learn something from this kind of adventure maybe.

The most important motivation is that I expected myself to become more independent, courageous and confident before turning to 20 years old. Furthermore, I wanted to see more beautiful places, experience more crazy things and meet more interesting people. That’s why I have been to Australia to work holiday.

If I had not done working holiday in Australia at that time, I might regret now.

Where have you been in Australia?

The first destination was Darwin, which is the capital city of the Northern Territory, Australia, as when I booked a flight to Australia, the ticket to Darwin was cheaper than that to Sydney. Besides Darwin, I’ve been to Broome, Exmouth, Coral Bay, Monkey Mia, Denham, Geraldton, Perth, Fremantle, Rottnest Island, Cairns and so on.
