Just a Dream

Let me tell you a story. It’s about just a dream.

        Her name is Nina, and she is a twenty-year-old undergraduate. Nina has a happy family. When she was born, Nina’s parents were looking forward to taking good care of her because Nina’s parents have not had any children for ten years. Nina is their only child; therefore, her parents always give her a lot of love and give what she wants. So, how lucky Nina is. But……

她的名字叫做妮娜，她現在是個二十歲的大學生且妮娜有個幸福的家庭。因為妮娜的父母親已經十年了都沒有任何小孩，所以當妮娜出生時，她的父母親很期待能照顧她。妮娜是個獨生女，因此，她的父母親總是給她很多很多愛及任何她所想要的事物。所以，妮娜是多麼幸運呢! 但是……

        Until Nina was nineteen years old, she had lived peacefully and happily. But, unfortunately, her parents were dead because of a car accident when Nina was nineteen years old. Suddenly, Nina has no mother, no father and no siblings (she is the only child), and she is both sad and lonely every day. Later, Susan, her father’s older sister, Nina’s aunt, invited Nina to live in the countryside with her and her family. There are four members in Susan’s family, including John, Susan’s son, Jessica, Susan’s daughter, Bob, Susan’s husband and Susan. Susan is an active, friendly, passionate mother, and Bob is a serious but gentle father. Susan and Bob always look upon Nina as their own child. And John, a twenty-two-year-old man, finished a degree in Business Studies in Eindhoven one year ago. His dream of becoming successful business person will come true because he always work hard. The final of members, Jessica, she is a really beautiful high school girl, but she is stingy and actually she doesn’t like Nina at all since she have to share one bedroom, one desk, one computer, one closet, and even her own clothes. Although Susan treats Nina generously, Nina feels lonely and thinks that she herself is a stranger in Susan’s family. Thus, Nina is as lonely as she used to be.

直到妮娜十九歲時，她都過著幸福和樂的生活。但是，令人遺憾地是，當妮娜十九歲時，她的父母親因為一場車禍而死亡。突然間，妮娜沒有爸爸、媽媽及任何兄弟姊妹(因為她是獨生女)，每一天，她既傷心又寂寞。之後，妮娜的父親的姊姊，妮娜的姑姑，蘇珊，邀請妮娜來鄉下和她的家人一起居住。在蘇珊的家中有四名成員: 約翰(蘇珊的兒子)、潔西卡(蘇珊的女兒)、鮑伯(蘇珊的丈夫)還有蘇珊。蘇珊是一個又活潑又友善又熱情的媽媽而鮑伯是個嚴肅卻溫和慈祥的爸爸。蘇珊及鮑伯一直把妮娜當作自己的女兒。而約翰，一個二十二歲的男人，一年前剛完成商學的學位在愛因荷華，他想成為一位成功的商人的夢想將要實現了，因為他一直以來都相當努力認真。蘇珊家中最後成員，潔西卡，她是一個極漂亮的高中女孩，但是她很吝嗇小氣，事實上，她一點兒都不喜歡妮娜因為她必須和妮娜共用一間房間、一張書桌、一台電腦、一個衣櫃及甚至是自己的衣服。雖然蘇珊慷慨地對待妮娜，妮娜卻感到寂寞甚至認為自己在蘇珊家中是個陌生人，因此，妮娜跟以往一樣很寂寞。

        Nina can’t afford to lose her parents, so she is depressed, painful and frustrated and she always cries every night when she misses her parents. After she entered a university, she always work part-time hard instead of going to school as she doesn’t like to go to school. Finally, the result is that she failed all the exams. This is worrying. Nina’s uncle and aunt all worry about her extremely. However, Nina doesn’t care about such result, and also in order to release the pain that she lost her favorite family, her parents, she decides to travel around the world, especially France, because she is fond of reading travel books. Therefore, she took a leave of absence first for her plan. Moreover, she makes a reservation for one way ticket for nine o’clock tomorrow morning straightaway. This night, when she is organizing her luggage, she thinks she is going to look at the world through rose-colored glasses by this trip. And then she goes to bed to fall asleep.

妮娜無法承受失去雙親的傷痛，所以她又沮喪又疼痛又挫敗且每一晚當想起父母親時她總是傷心地流淚。在進入大學之後，因為她不喜歡上學，所以她總是兼職打工而不是去上學，最後的結果是她所有考試都不及格，這是令人擔心的，妮娜的姑姑及姑丈都很擔心她，可是，妮娜完全不在乎這樣的結果，並且為了減輕失去雙親的傷痛，再加上她喜歡看旅遊書籍，所以她決定環遊世界，尤其是法國。首先，她休學，而且她立刻訂了一張明早九點單程的機票。那晚，當她整理行李時，心裡想著藉由這次的旅程從今以後自己要以積極正面的態度來看待人生，接著她上床睡覺了。

In the morning, she wakes up early because she is so excited, and she had a piece of bread and butter with a cup of coffee for breakfast when taking the bus to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. She flies to Paris, arriving at Aéroport Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle. Everything is so strange and different from where she was born, Taiwan. She has to possess much courage and confidence to experience. First of all, she arrives in Paris with an eye to watch La Tour Eiffel, a popular tourist attraction in Paris, the capital of France, and she is starving because it’s four o’clock in the afternoon. She is sitting on the grass, having some delicious French cuisine. There is a man with few beards sitting next to her. This man talks to Nina first, and Nina starts to chat with him. He is Jonathan, a Swiss, and also a traveler. He has brown hair and eyes and is a little bit strong because of his muscles in his arms. He talks about experience of travel during his various trips. Nina is interested in his stories. They talk with each other constantly, having dinner together. Finally, Jonathan invites Nina to travel with him; however, Nina thinks that today is the first day of the trip, and she prefers to travel on her own, so she refuses and say goodbye to him.

早晨，因為她如此興奮，所以她起床得早，當她在前往桃園機場的巴士上，她吃著一塊奶油麵包及喝一杯咖啡。飛機前往巴黎，她抵達戴高樂機場了。每件事物都與台灣如此地陌生及不同，她必須擁有著極大的勇氣和自信來面對接下來的一切。首先，為了看艾菲爾鐵塔，在巴黎的一個觀光勝地，她抵達巴黎。因為已經是下午四點，所以妮娜非常飢餓。她坐在草地上，吃著美味的法國料理，有個留著些許鬍子的男人坐在她身旁，那男人主動地與妮娜搭話，而妮娜也開始與他聊天，他是個瑞士人，也是一個旅遊家，他有著棕色頭髮和眼睛且因為他手臂上的肌肉顯得他有一點強壯，他談論他的旅遊經驗而妮娜對他的故事也感到興趣，他們持續地聊天及一起吃晚餐，最後喬納森邀請妮娜一同旅遊，然而妮娜認為今日是旅程的第一天，她比較想要獨自旅行，所以她拒絕並向他說再見。

Day after day, she went to Nice, Bordeaux, Lyon, etc. Nina meets many people who are enthusiastic to help her with questions and makes a bunch of new friends when she goes to everywhere. They exchange their own experience of travelling one another and hang out together. Thanks to her friends, Nina is no long depressed and lonely; instead, she is happy at the moment. One day, when she is buying a hamburger, a voice from a man with a cap appears. Nina turns her head to look at that man. Ah! He is Jonathan, and he is buying the same. They look at eyes each other, fall in love with each other, and decide to travel together. During the time when Nina and Jonathan hang out, Nina is becoming happier and happier. Even though preparing for leave from France, she makes a deal with Jonathan. They will keep in touch for all eternity. The final night of this trip, when going to bed, Nina recalls whole memories happily, and then she falls asleep.

一天過一天，她去了尼斯、波爾多、里昂等等，當妮娜去各種地方時，她遇見了許多熱心幫助她解決問題的人且她也交了一些朋友。他們互換彼此的旅遊經驗及常常一起出去玩。多虧她的朋友們，妮娜不再沮喪及寂寞，反而，現在她很快樂。某一天，當妮娜在買漢堡時，突然出現一個聲音，那聲音來自一名戴著帽子的男人，妮娜把頭轉過去並注視著那男人，是喬納森! 他也正在買漢堡，他們注視著彼此的眼睛，接著愛上對方，並且決定接下來一起旅遊。在妮娜和喬納森一起旅遊的這一段期間，妮娜變得愈來愈快樂。雖然妮娜準備要離開法國了，但他們約定好以後要繼續聯絡。在這趟旅途的最後一晚，當妮娜上床睡覺時，她快樂地回想整段回憶，然後她進入夢鄉了……

        Susan nervously wakes up Nina. “It’s time to go to airport” she said, “You overslept yourself! Hurry up!” Nina is woken up suddenly, and is prepare for everything quickly. When she leaves, she thinks that I just did a wonderful dream.

蘇珊緊張地喚醒妮娜，她說:「該是去機場的時候了! 你睡過頭了! 快點準備!」妮娜突然被喚醒，快速地準備一切所需的事物，當她出門時，心裡想著我只是做了一個好夢呢!
